Vic Venters – Second in Charge of Maths
I have worked in the Maths department at The Regis School for 9 years. In that time I have progressed from classroom teacher, to ECT Mentor, to Key Stage 3 Maths Lead, to Second in Department.
One of the best things about working at The Regis School is their commitment to ensuring all members of staff have plenty of opportunities to develop their teaching. The school prioritises continuous improvement, and so all members of staff are constantly supported to reflect on and improve our practice. CPD is a focus, and we have many opportunities to work on our professional development.
As well as developing my classroom practice, The Regis School have also supported my progression into a leadership role. I have been encouraged to access external CPD courses that have a leadership focus, including a United Learning Middle Leadership course, and an NPQLT with the Ambition Institute. I am grateful to have been provided with these opportunities as they have greatly increased my confidence as I have progressed into my current role.
Jason Allen-Brown – Teacher of English
I’ve been lucky enough to be involved in the education sector for well over a decade now and joined the incredible team here at The Regis School in September 2024. My background hails from a career in youth work with a focus on youth crime but veered into teaching through a pastoral route and a want to help young people succeed.
Since joining team English at TRS I've been exposed to a plethora of CPD that has enhanced my classroom teaching and holistic understanding of educational practices through consistent reflection and exploration in and out of the classroom. I genuinely believe that TRS wants the best from everyone and that includes every member of staff. The department are the most wonderful, welcoming and warm people I've had the pleasure of working with and I cannot praise them enough.
The school's vision and relentless pursuit for excellence has also allowed me to advance to a role as Year 9 and 10 leader of English which provides a further opportunity for development at a curriculum level. Here I have access to middle leader courses, collective learning meetings, whole school CPD with other leaders which also serves to enhance my ability to execute and guides me on my own professional development route. The school really cares for and nurtures staff, quite often my line management meetings will focus on next steps at a small, medium and long term scale with effective planning to get me to my goals. I feel settled, valued and excited working at TRS because the school gives so many opportunities for staff to excel and achieve which in turn provides pupils with the same opportunities.
Katie Braham - Assistant Principal
I joined The Regis School in September 2021 as an Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning. I am now Assistant Principal for Curriculum. I have been well supported to make this transition. I have access to excellent reading from our Academic Library, an excellent line manager and the school are paying for and supporting me to complete the Ambition Curriculum Leaders course.
Two standout features of The Regis School for me are the focus on continuous improvement and disruption free learning. The school culture prioritises continuous improvement through CPD, sharing best practice, feedback and personal reflection. There is attention to detail at all levels. I love that our practiced is all evidence informed; we draw on Rosenshine, Teach Like a Champion, and other sources, to drive successful practice and excellent CPD. The school is invested in securing distruption free learning with a large pastoral team and strong policies which are consistently applied. I feel well supported in the classroom and I love being able to focus on my teaching!
Anna Charczun – EAL Teacher
I started working at the Regis School in 2012. I have had a variety of roles, from a TA, through an English Intervention Tutor, to the EAL teacher. The school have always been supportive throughout the course of my PhD studies, as well as in developing my potential as a teacher and a tutor. I feel well looked after and appreciated every single day, and I cannot imagine working anywhere else. I would recommend the Regis School not only to potential future staff members, but also to parents, as having been here for nearly twelve years, I have experienced and observed an all-inclusive professional teaching and pastoral practice all round!”

I joined the Regis School in September 2016 as an NQT and during my time here I have had fantastic professional development opportunities which have allowed me to advance in my career to the position of Head of Science. Whilst at The Regis I have been given the opportunity to complete my NPQML as well as being offered internal coaching and external middle leadership courses. The school has provided me with so many opportunities to develop my own teaching as well as my leadership and I am so thankful to SLT for this. TRS is a fantastic place to work and I can’t imagine wanting to work anywhere else!

Since starting at The Regis School in November 2018 as an Attendance Clerk, I am now the Whole School Attendance Lead managing the Attendance Department.
TRS Senior Leadership Team have been instrumental in my career progression and offered support and CPD programmes to further develop my skills in working with young people.
This is an excellent school to work in, support staff are recognised and made to feel a real part of the vision and ethos the school promote.

I am training to teach MFL at The Regis School through United Teaching. I decided to train as a teacher because of the passion and encouragement I received from my own teachers, which inspired me to share that same enthusiasm with students today. I want to help students not only learn French but also build confidence in expressing themselves in a new language.
The support I am receiving during my training is incredible. From my mentors to my colleagues, there’s always someone to provide guidance or encouragement when I need it. The training program has also been very well-structured, helping me balance the demands of work and study while still having time to focus on my own personal development.

The Regis is an exceptional place to develop as a teacher. Through my role as a trainee, I have been supported by a comprehensive training programme and mentorship scheme. I receive weekly personal feedback sessions and observations with my subject mentor, alongside whole-school and departmental meetings. There is a clear vision at the Regis, and being part of this ambitious and driven school has allowed me to develop both professionally and personally, while honing my craft.
