Rights Respecting Coordinators from four Gold secondary schools met at Unicef UK headquarters on Friday 27 September to discuss how Unicef can improve recruitment for the RRSA amongst secondary schools in England.
The session began by looking at the history of RRSA in each school, before moving on to explore ‘blockers and boosters’ for participation. Participants then went on to explore opportunities to improve participation in the Award, these ideas will form a recruitment strategy over the next three to four years.
Unicef want to thank The Regis School for releasing Mrs Saunders to take part in the session and would like to extend a special thank you to all the Rights Respecting Coordinators from the four schools, for your passion and enthusiasm for RRSA which is helping to make children’s rights a reality for more young people in England.
GOLD: RIGHTS RESPECTING
Gold: Rights Respecting is the highest stage of the Rights Respecting Schools Award (after Bronze: Rights Committed and Silver: Rights Aware). It is granted by Unicef UK to schools that have fully embedded children’s rights throughout the school in its policies, practice and ethos, as outlined in the three RRSA Strands.
