Summer Reading Challenge Volunteers

During the summer term, Librarian Mrs Rahaman was contacted by West Sussex Libraries to help them recruit student volunteers for their Space Chase summer reading challenge.
We are very proud of the students who gave up their free time in the summer holidays to volunteer. They helped to run the Space Chase summer reading challenge by greeting the families, explaining how the challenge works, listening to the children talk about what they have been reading and handing out the all-important rewards.
The students attended a celebration event at Bognor Regis Library on Monday 23rd September, where they were congratulated for their efforts and they received their certificates. Our wonderful students volunteered a massive 108+ hours, with Megan Bryant-Lawson giving up 48½ hours of her time.
Librarians Emma Clarke and Christine Broggi wanted to thank the students for the huge difference they’ve made to children, parents and library staff taking part in the challenge. They said they “couldn’t do it without them”, and that “volunteers really do make a difference”.
Well done to all those who volunteered:
Megan Bryant-Lawson, Layla Bryant, Gemma Williams, Megan Priest and Phoebe Reeves.
