At The Regis School we make a promise to our students. We not only aim to ensure they have the best education, we commit to developing their wider experiences, talents and personalities by offering them opportunities through the Student Pledge.
During their time at the school all students will have the opportunity to take part in extra-curricular clubs, debate on whole school issues through the A Team, represent their houses or years in inter-house events, go on a school trip (including residential visits) and be supported in their next steps through a rich diet of careers events. These experiences give the students wider skills that will set them up for future life.
Mrs Saunders, Assistant Principal explained:
“The pledge was written in collaboration with students and local employers so that our wider curriculum offer ensures our students are prepared for the world of work and as adult citizens. The Pledge ensures students develop confidence and communication skills as well as ensuring exposure to experiences that are extra-ordinary.”
The school is tracking students’ progress against The Pledge, to ensure everyone has access to the full range of opportunities and at the end of the year students will be awarded bronze, silver or gold certificates dependent on their participation levels. By the time a student reaches the end of Year 10 they should be able to demonstrate silver or gold levels of participation and use this to support Sixth Form, college or job applications going forward.
