Year 7 TRS Football Team
Things are looking very exciting this year for the new Year 7 Boys football team. The team have been training hard and this has been reflected by their performances on the pitch. To date, they are unbeaten in all competitions. I would also like to take this opportunity to invite all Year 7’s to football training. The team will change throughout the year and isn’t ‘set’, so attendance to training is really important. This is every Wednesday after school with Mr James.
Year 7 Football Tournament
TRS entered two Year 7 teams into the local schools football tournament hosted at TRS. Regis Red played 5 games, coming 2nd in their group. Regis black won the whole tournament, scoring an impressive 28 goals in 6 games, and conceding just one. The future is certainly bright for these boys moving forward into the local school league games which start after half term!
National Cup 1st Round
The team travelled to Bohunt School, Liphook (Guildford), for the first round of the National Cup. They started very well, missing a few chances and competing well throughout the first half with the score remaining 0-0. After a slight switch-up at the beginning of the 2nd half, the boys started to take their chances, with goals from Isaac Glanfield x2, Lennie Smith x2 and Taylor Bickle. The final score was 5-0. The boys move into the next round of the cup with a home game against either Hove Park School or Worthing High, with dates to be continued.
County Cup 1st Round
The team hosted Forest School ‘B’ Team. (Horsham) at TRS. After a very quick start, the boys found themselves 3-0 up after 5mins, and the goals kept coming throughout the game. Lots of goals shared around by all, with pupils have the opportunity to play in a variety of positions. The game finished 15-0 to TRS. The boys move into the next round of the county cup against Angmering. Details of this fixture to be released very soon!
Most Valuable Player of Sept/Oct as voted for by the Team Manager (P.E. Teacher).
