U19 Football League Game @ TRS.
We won 2-1. It was a pleasure to watch some good football with passes being linked and TRS building attacks and having some shots on goal, with a solid defence to support. A goal was scored in the first half by Liam Conolly after a hand ball in the area. The second goal scored by Tom Byrne to secure the win. Team manager Owen Miles voted Harry Shelly man of the match. It has been a great season and sad that the Year 13 contracts have come to the end. Might be able to squeeze in one more rematch against TLA before they go!? Special thanks to Liam/Ben/Joe for organising the team, to Ryan for often running the line, the Year 12’s playing (even though there was definitely some peer pressure involved – you never let us go short) and to all our dedicated supporters, come rain or shine. To the whole squad – I reckon over the whole season we must have signed in excess of 25 players – never fielding the same first 11. Special mention to the special six who played week in and week out Liam, Ben, Toby, Harry, Callum and Brad. It has been a pleasure to watch/manage.
The Year 10 girls are our most dedicated team for Netball training and they play in two teams. This week we travelled to FCC for our game and the first team to played and lost 5 -14 and the second team lost 13-15. Although they are two loses it is a total pleasure to see the girls improvement in skill and their love for playing sport. Their dedication to training and matches is excellent. They play with pride and never give up. FCC today had two very strong shooters who rarely missed. Last week we travelled to SPH where we played 4 games and we won two and lost two. Next week we host Selsey Academy at ours.
The teams today;
Poppy Spurle, Zoe Flaskett, Scarlett Jones, Ellie Waite, Eden Fisk, Kate Smith and Lily Robinson
Aruna Gibson, Becca Harmsworth, Chelsea Winson – Thurston, Ella Collyer, Lily Collyer, Maisie Brooks and Rosie McFaul
Well done ladies you all played very well.
