Soccer Aid Playground Challenge – Wednesday 8th May
We are excited to inform you that on Wednesday 8th May all students at The Regis School will have the opportunity to take part in the 2019 Soccer Aid Playground Challenge to support UNICEF. The day will be a non-uniform day and students will be asked to bring £1 to take part. This donation will also include the chance to have a go on our student designed Playground Challenge, which is an obstacle course around the school grounds designed by our students in the A Team and Rights Respecting Ambassadors. Students need to wear sports attire and this could be their favourite team kit, PE kit or other appropriate sportswear. There should be no bare midriffs or “short”, shorts. Any students who are Rights Respecting Ambassadors or A Team reps who have official school T-Shirts should wear them.
Soccer Aid is a biannual charity football match set up by Robbie Williams, that will take place at Stamford Bridge on Sunday 6th June. More details can be found at www.socceraid.org.uk .
In addition to the obstacle course students will be able to purchase extra goes on the assault course for 50p and we hope to have candy floss, zorbing and other stalls to give the day a real festival feel. We would encourage students to bring £3 - £5 if they can should they wish to take part in the extra activities being laid on during the day. A donation from these activities will go to UNICEF and Soccer Aid. The government has agreed to double all monies raised so we hope to smash our £1000 target for the day. £1164 will provide a child friendly space where children can learn, play and recover in times of emergency. £1.70 could provide a child with vaccines to protect them from deadly diseases.
We do hope you will be happy for your child to take part in this event and to be part of making a real difference to other children’s lives.
