On Friday 8th February 2019, Inset day. I had the opportunity of travelling up to London with three others, Johan Keijser-Petch, Willem Keijser-Petch and Kev Robbins to UNICEF HQ to attend the first ever Youth Panel.
We met with other Rights Respecting Schools, to discuss what it is like going to a Gold Rights Respecting School, what could be better? How could UNICEF help? What activities could schools do once Gold has been achieved. There was a discussion about what a school could be called once it had achieved gold and also how they should be reassessed.
It was an amazing opportunity to gather an understanding of how other schools campaign and use opportunities provided by UNICEF to improve their schools attitudes, behaviours as well as academic achievements. We discussed the impact of how all of this enhances the progress to changing the world for the better.
