On Thursday 27th June, over 160 students received an award to recognise Excellence in Achievement and Effort at The Regis School this academic year.
Taking place in the Arena Sports Centre, the students were recognised and celebrated in a glamourous Awards event, which included stunning performances from dancers and musicians, plus presentations from student representatives on Arun Youth Council and our Alumni Award winner, Patrick Foote, popular You-Tuber and author.
Amongst the celebrations of excellence and achievement in every subject and for every year group, students were also commended for a range of community, leadership and charity work and several special awards were given to recognise outstanding achievements in these areas. The Rights Respecting Award was presented to Year 9 student Megan Bryant-Lawson for her outstanding work in upholding the Rights of the Child, and the David Jones Legacy Award was given to Toby Buck in Year 13 for his admirable contribution to sports leadership during his 7 years at the school.
Mr Garlick said ‘I am incredibly proud of the achievements of all of our students. We are delighted to be able to celebrate and share such a wide range of successes, not just in the academic sense, but also to recognise the charity and community contributions that so many of our students make, as true Rights Respecting citizens. We look forward to seeing these achievements and talents develop and we will continue to celebrate our students with their parents and the wider community’.
