As a result of the work Mr Thompson has been doing with the RFU we were lucky enough to be one of two schools selected nationally to be invited to Twickenham on Saturday the 26th February. We took 12 Year 7 students and one young leader in Year 12. The Year 7’s played a 6 a-side touch Rugby game on the Twickenham pitch, which was refereed by Brad in Year 12 before the England v Wales match.
The day provided them with the chance to play three games showcasing the RFUs new version of ‘touch’ rugby on the international pitch against a school from Bristol, followed by pitch side seats for the international match as well as getting their names in the match day programme.
The students demonstrated sportsmanship, kindness and a passion for Rugby throughout the day and we are sure they will remember it for years to come.
Brad says ‘to ref the students in the best stadium in the world before an iconic six nations match is an experience I will never forget.’
