For the fourth year The Regis School welcomed members of the 58 Battery Royal Artillery, Thorney Island, to join us in our Remembrance Ceremony. The whole school (1750 students and staff) gathered as we always do around the atriums to listen, watch and observe a 2 minute silence, with a sense of reverence and respect as we marked the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War 1.
Following on from the in school Remembrance Service on Friday Mr Garlick was joined by 3 Regis School students to represent the school at Bognor’s Remembrance Parade and Service on Sunday 11th November.
After being part of the parade, Adelicia, Caitlin and Megan lay a wreath at Bognor Cenotaph within the service which was attended by 100s of general public and other youth movements in the town.
Mr Garlick said , “It is always a proud moment to represent our school each year on Remembrance Sunday. Our school is a major part of the town and we want all of the armed forces to know that we are indebted to their services over the last 100 years.”
