Visit and Workshop for Year 10 Students
We have had guest speakers from Generation R in one of our assemblies who also ran a workshop with 20 specially selected students.
Making Generation R, Resilience Through Inspiration is a campaign from Blesma, the charity for limbless veterans, and The Drive Project, the creative social enterprise. Together, Blesma and The Drive Project use Theatre professionals to train wounded veterans to deliver resilience workshops to 11-18 year olds across the UK based on their own stories of overcoming adversity.
Making Generation R helps to create a generation of resilient young people through assemblies and workshops. They feel that one of the most effective ways to encourage resilience is through inspiration from others that have overcome their own difficulties.
We had the privilege of listening to Archie Noughton’s inspirational personal story, the exciting and motivational life he has led and how he overcame adversity and his challenges in daily life.
Stephen our facilitator for the workshop said “They were a lovely group. Responsive, engaged motivated to learn more and sensitive to the issues raised”.
Our students said:
“really interesting, I appreciated hearing Archie’s story and hearing about his challenges and how he used resilience in the face of adversity” Ella
“it taught me that we all have different stories to tell. It was insightful” Crystal
“the workshop helped me to understand different strategies to help with challenges I might face” Lauris
